How & Why

We take a three pronged attack with our efforts to offset our carbon footprint to ensure that we blend planting locally in the UK where we live, with overseas planting. Overseas planting of Mangrove and Kelp is less expensive per tree, so we can do more to compensate for our impact and help the communities it benefits.

We work directly with the passionate team at Carma, our chosen partner for our CSR contribution. Why? Because they are our kind of people, ex military and help with veteran community.

UK Tree Planting

At Cogent2, we are committed to making a meaningful impact on the environment, driven by the urgency of combating climate change.

As residents of the UK, we recognize the importance of local action in addressing global issues. That's why we plant more than one tree with every invoice - helping
to restore biodiversity, combat deforestation, and reduce our carbon footprint.

In a world increasingly influenced by greenwashing, we aim to lead by example with authentic, sustainable efforts. By contributing to a greener planet, we hope to ensure a better future for the next generation and leave a lasting legacy for our children.

Mangrove Reforest

Mangroves are vital to coastal ecosystems, providing livelihood, food, and protection to communities. In coastal Kenya, mangrove forests have been degraded due to urbanisation and overexploitation, leaving local populations vulnerable.

These forests are critical habitats for marine life and act as natural barriers against storms and erosion. Restoration efforts aim to rejuvenate these mangroves, offering both environmental and socio-economic benefits. By revitalizing the ecosystem, we can provide sustainable fishing grounds, create income opportunities, and reduce the impacts of climate change.

Protecting mangroves is essential for both the environment and the communities that depend on them for survival.

Kelp Revival

At Cogent2, we plant kelp with every invoice to support vital kelp restoration efforts on the Sunshine Coast.

In partnership with local Indigenous communities and environmental organizations, we’re helping revive degraded kelp forests that are crucial for marine biodiversity and climate health.

Kelp forests provide shelter for countless marine species, act as carbon sinks, and help mitigate ocean acidification. By restoring these ecosystems, we not only protect marine life but also reconnect communities with their cultural heritage. This project bridges environmental conservation with social impact, empowering local communities and preserving traditions, all while addressing pressing climate challenges.

Next Gen Cogent2

It's time to do what we can to start to reduce our impact and help make sure the next generations have the best chance to thrive. In our case, Savannah and Reggie.
